The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry about 250 passengers. This blog was viewed about 1,300 times in 2012. If it were a Dreamliner, it would take about 5 trips to carry that many people.

I wrote a very brief summary on the Conclave at Burning Man. It doesn’t give you all an excuse to stop reading here, but yes, in a nutshell, here is my article I wrote for Burn After Reading Mag.
I wish, wish, wish I could do this.
Just a photographic update of the last month.
First, my Bendy Wicks arrived!!
Secondly, I have 4 colour hair, dark brown/black, red, cerise and blue:
I went on a falconry trip:

I’ve just come home from a great class with Anna Hulagan… totally different mindset from the last 3 times I’ve hooped. For the whole hour and a half I was really strict – having maybe about 30 minutes of tricks and dancing, the other hour dedicated to the dreaded knee hooping! It’s actually coming along ok.
I’m getting more mobile while hooping on my knees – not quite at wandering around stage but almost. I still can’t bring it up, but I kept dropping down from waist to leg a little bit, then shimmying up, a little bt further down, then up. I can feel it’s around the corner – a really positive feeling after being stuck for such a long time. After I’ve cracked knee hooping I’m really going to start working on my waist to chest shimmy – I can do it, but not every time (as shown in my video from Sunday). I think I will just feel a lot better if all my core work is more solid, I won’t be caught out so easily by awkward positions, and so much more freedom of movement.
Btw. Anna was quite pleased with the behind the back weave. Teehehe.
I finally managed to haul ass down to London beach with the London Firespinners group – I still haven’t bought my wicks yet but this is a monthly get together, and I wanted to see what this guerrilla fire collective was all about. I took my foldy polypro, prayed it wouldn’t fracture in the 0 degrees celcius weather and put on about 5 t-shirts. Earlier on in the week I was told some hoopers usually show up so there might be a chance of fire hooping – I had my fingers crossed.
London beach is between Waterloo station and the OXO tower on Southbank, and during a full moon the tide recedes about 100 m, revealing a sandy, albeit steep, beach. The firespinners sneak down here with poi and staffs for a monthly burn and a sit around the fire. Last night was certainly a beautiful night, although I have to say I suddenly got quite shy so I didn’t actually meet that many people – they probably thought I was being rude but I got a good hoop on for a few hours and warmed my frosty fingers on an open fire. I’m definitely going back next month. If I can sort out my camera I’ll be posting some videos of some spinners 🙂
Tomorrow is my St James’s park hoop jam that the all-famous Baxter may or may not be showing up to. I’m very nervous, especially as facebook indicates quite a few visitors and my partner in crime, Ri, has had to pull out due to work. EEK! But I bought an X mini 2 speaker (finally we will have loud music for jams), and 1 litre Thermos so we can warm up with coffee, and my MP3 is on charge for some tunage. I’m really hoping it’s not -5 degrees as expected!
